The extremely durable, high-performance SpeedMaster II boasts a high maximum drag power combined with a smooth, ultra-wide range of drag adjustability to make it a true fish-fighting machine. The new SpeedMaster II is constructed with a rigid HAGANE Body to prevent misalignment of moving parts under the heaviest loads. Plus, a spare drag cam is included for optimal performance for anglers fishing with monofilament lines.

I fish salmon in Puget Sound trolling with Scotty 2106 downriggers. I've used a lot of different reels including the cheaper line counter models from another company but the Speedmaster is now my favorite reel next to my Islanders. The ease of dropping down and adjusting fishing depth is almost as easy as an Islander with the lever drag and the retrieve speed is great for checking bait plus the ability to use a slower retrieve rate when landing large fish. I've used it jigging for Ling Cod and it makes it too easy! The SPM10II is perfect for Puget Sound and the ocean for salmon, ling cod, rockfish, halibut.
